PSNS-Jr Mechanic

Job Description

Are you a dedicated and skilled Jr Mechanic looking for an exciting opportunity? Join our team at PSNS and work on the elevator units of the prestigious USS NIMITZ. We welcome veterans to apply! This role requires experience in pumps, valves, and hydraulics, with shipyard experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work on the elevator units of the USS NIMITZ.

• Perform repairs and maintenance on pumps, valves, and hydraulic systems.

• Handle electrical and mechanical repairs.

• Operate as an outside machinist and mechanic in a shipyard environment.

• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.

Essential Skills

• Experience with valves, pumps, and hydraulic systems.

• Electrical and mechanical repair skills.

• Shipyard experience, particularly with valves and mechanical systems.

• Ability to work as an outside machinist and mechanic.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with elevators is a plus.

• Ability to work in various weather conditions.

• Strong problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

• Location: Shipyard at PSNS, Bremerton, Washington.

• Setting: Both outdoors and inside the ship, be prepared for various weather conditions including rain, sun, and snow.

• Shift: 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.
