Robert Half Staff Accountant in Brea, California

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant in Brea, CA on a part-time basis. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records by handling month-end close, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of GAAP and prior experience in the food manufacturing and distribution industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.

  • Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the general ledger.

  • Perform bank reconciliations and ensure all discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP.

  • Assist in maintaining financial accuracy by reviewing and reconciling accounts.

  • Support audits and provide necessary documentation as required.

  • Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel.

  • Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
