Job Title: Conventional Machinist

Job Description

A machine shop that manufactures graphite for high-speed automotive products is seeking a skilled conventional machinist.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, shape, and process graphite materials according to project specifications.

• Operate and maintain equipment used in the cutting, shaping, and finishing of graphite components.

• Perform quality checks to ensure graphite materials meet specified standards and tolerances.

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.

• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize processes and achieve project goals.

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to company and regulatory safety guidelines.

• Document work progress, materials used, and inspection results.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience working with graphite materials or open to candidates right out of trade school.

• Proficiency with machining tools, such as lathes, mills, or CNC machines, is highly desirable.

• Strong understanding of material properties and manufacturing techniques related to graphite.

• Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring tools.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

• Capability to lift and handle heavy materials.

Work Environment

Machine shop environment with working hours from 7am to 4pm.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brea, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $75000.00
