Job Title: 1st Shift Shipping Clerk

Job Description

A distribution company that manufactures automotive parts is seeking a long-term shipping clerk/warehouse worker for the 1st shift. The position involves receiving and restocking inventory, dispatching, handling overstock, and various other warehouse duties.

Responsibilities

• Receive and restock inventory.

• Load and unload materials from trucks.

• Break down boxes and package items for shipment.

• Use order rolling stairs, pickers, and RF scanners to fulfill orders.

• Assist Warehouse Supervisors as needed.

• Package items for shipment.

• Pick orders utilizing stairs to reach materials for the automotive industry (rolling stairs may range from 7-15 steps long).

Essential Skills

• Experience with picking, packing, and packaging.

• Proficiency in using RF scanners.

• Experience with pallet jacks.

• Ability to load and unload materials efficiently.

• Experience with order picking and inventory management.

• Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

• Comfortable utilizing rolling safety ladders (5-7 steps, occasionally up to 15 steps).

• Ability to speak, read, and write English.

• Must be able to stand, walk, sit, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms.

• Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or squat.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and self-motivated.

Why Work Here?

Once hired directly, employees receive a $0.50 increase in pay. Additionally, employees will be trained on forklift operation, which can lead to an extra dollar in pay. Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits are also offered.

Work Environment

The work environment is typically loud due to forklifts and other machinery operating in the facility. The position is for the 1st shift, Monday to Friday, with mandatory overtime up to 2 hours daily and occasional Saturdays. Employees must adhere to a dress code of plain shirts, jeans (no holes), and closed-toed shoes. No logos for beer or alcohol are allowed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brea, California.
