The Opportunity

As a Network Principal Engineer , you'll provide expertise for the Network Architecture function of the global Network Services team. You'll work closely with the Network Architecture Lead and Regional Network Operations Leads to contribute to the network strategy, manage roadmaps for the region, and execute the implementation using next-generation SASE network design principles. Your responsibilities will include the rollout of Takeda’s next-generation network, leveraging technologies such as Cisco Viptela, Zscaler, SolarWinds, Aternity, LiveNX, and NetBrain. You'll collaborate with a global team of network architects, interface with various stakeholders, and develop KPIs to ensure superior business outcomes and security best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a global subject matter expert in network architecture, contributing to the network strategy and managing roadmaps.

  • Participate in the rollout of Takeda’s next-generation network, including software-defined WAN, secure web gateway, global wireless network, and public cloud access solutions.

  • Work closely with regional network leads, security architects, enterprise architects, data center and cloud architects, application owners, and external vendors.

  • Contribute to the development of KPIs related to availability, utilization, latency, and service-level agreements.

  • Work with security and risk teams to ensure the implementation of security best practices, including logging and privileged user management.

  • Develop operational documentation, design and build device configuration templates, automate device deployments and changes, and contribute to network stability and standardization.

  • Participate in and help lead large-scale strategic initiatives to advance the company’s network architecture.

  • Build effective professional working relationships with key stakeholders inside and outside of IT.

  • Act as the point of escalation in the incident and problem management processes, driving continuous improvement in network design.

  • Partner with key vendors responsible for monitoring and managing the operational environment, participating in incident, problem, configuration, change, and release management processes.

Skills and Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related study, or equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years’ experience as a network architect and minimum of last 5 years supporting large scale enterprise networks.

  • Demonstrated network management, network architecture, and people management skills.

  • Network certifications, such as CCIE, are preferred.

  • A collaborative mindset is an absolute must.

  • Adept at analyzing complex technical issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions. Proficient in debugging, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.

  • Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are required.

  • Ability to translate complex tech concepts to non-tech stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to stay updated with the latest features, updates, and best practices.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, business acumen, and enterprise knowledge.

  • Proficiency in English in both verbal and written communication is a must.

Salary

As a motivated employee, you should be compensated appropriately. The minimum salary for this position is € 4450 per month (full time), but your final remuneration package may be higher depending on your qualifications and experience.
