Mechanical Assembler

Location : Sioux Falls, SD

Hours : Monday thru Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm (Voluntary OT on Fridays)

Pay : $20-27/hour

Job Description:

In this role, you will be responsible for assembling and installing plumbing systems on our custom first responder vehicles. This includes working with various types of piping, valves, and fixtures, ensuring that all systems meet our stringent quality and safety standards. Assemblers will cut and attach pipes of various materials using a variety of methods. Once the systems are complete you will test for leaks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cutting and threading pipes using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe threading machine

• Bend pipes to the required angle by using a pipe bending machine or by bending by hand

• Join pipes by using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulk joints

• Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes

• Fill pipe systems with water or air and read pressure gauges to check for system leaks

Qualifications :

• Preferred 1-2 years of plumbing experience (professional or personal experience)

• Ability to read and understand plumbing drawings within the first 90 days of employment .

• Ability to read and use a tape measure for precise measurements

• Ability to use common hand tools and power tools such as drills, and screw guns

• Ability to communicate professionally and follow directions
