Kloeckner Metals Corporation CAD Programmer in Brandenburg, Kentucky

Job Summary
Takes customer generated geometry or drawings and saves them into the correct file format using CAD software. Utilizes nesting software to generate programs for CNC equipment. Troubleshoots specific applications as needed.
Summary of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
Ability to use CAD software with knowledge of specific CNC manufacturers programming software
Ability to understand and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerances
Interpret customer drawings and specifications and using CAD software create engineering drawings
Coordinates all production and technical communications between customers, sales, and production
Create inspection sheets and shop drawings for all aspects of production
Import files created with CAD software into the nesting software and generate NC files for the CNC equipment. Must be able to identify specific applications that may need to be used (CNC: laser, oxy fuel, plasma, press, mill, etc)
Nest parts as required on sheets or blanks to maximize material utilization and production efficiency
Program 3-axis vertical machine center
Program press brakes
Create set-up sheets for all programmed jobs and equipment
Program and document revisions as required
Assist with design of tooling and fixtures
Thorough understanding of the equipment that he/she is creating programs for
Provide input on efficiency improvements and cost versus benefit analysis of new tooling/ applications considerations
Maintain tooling / cutting parameter inventory list
Maintain program files on computer and files of set up sheets
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
3 - 5 years practical CAD programming experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
Two-year technical Degree in Computer programming or Computer Aided design, or equivalent experience.

Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Visio)
