The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Procurement Specialist (m/w/*) you will have the opportunity to put your curiosity to good use and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people in the world.

Here's how to make an impact:

• The role involves managing assigned capital expenditure sub-commodities and implementing regional/global strategies to establish a preferred suppliers list.

• Taking the lead on medium to complex procurement projects and seeking input from peers, while also initiating initiatives to enhance supplier benefits in areas such as technology, quality, responsiveness, delivery, and cost.

• Responsible for determining and implementing solutions for business distribution and awarding.

• Conducting complex contract negotiations, considering Total Cost of Ownership, and consulting legal staff if necessary.

• Utilizing various procurement negotiation techniques and tools to address complex global problems.

• Providing leadership within the direct work group/team, with decisions impacting operational effectiveness and important programs.

• Engaging in communication with internal and external clients, including project leads, engineering managers, and occasionally department/area/business heads.

• Offering consulting assistance and presenting project recommendations to management, demonstrating effective planning aligned with business needs and goals.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• A completed Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification

• In-depth knowledge and experience in one or more sub commodities, or willingness to learn

• Demonstrable experience of leading complex procurement projects

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Familiarity with working in a large corporate complex organisation

• Proficiency in relevant computer programs and corporate systems.

• Strong communication skills in written and spoken English and German, with additional French skills being advantageous.

• Demonstrates effective persuasion skills and ability to manage differing interests and perspectives.

Location - position can be located anywhere within EMEA

Work location - flexible to be remote based supported by 'Work your way'

Travel: May include up to 5%
