After training, a required OT weekend rotation will be added to check crystals 2-3 times per day or as needed (typically every 3rd or 4th weekend, approximately 3-6 hours per day).
Job Summary:
Crystal Growth Technicians are trained on core activities associated with the production of synthetic single-crystal materials using high temperature crystal growth equipment and associated processes. The position will operate high temperature crystal growth equipment and will perform maintenance and repairs on crystal growth support equipment.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Crystal grow station set-up and breakdown
Monitoring of crystals during the growth process
Handling/mixing/loading of constituent chemicals
Processing various materials into different forms
Equipment maintenance and repair
Job Qualifications:
High school degree or GED required, 2 year post-secondary technical degree preferred
Mechanical aptitude and experience with basic shop tools, calipers and scales
Basic knowledge of welding and/or ability to learn
Basic knowledge of chemistry and/or ability to learn
Able and willing to work weekend hours on rotation
Able and willing to go up and down a 12” step to access crystal chamber platforms
Able and willing to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
Good written and oral communication skills
Meticulous attention to detail
Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
