Project Engineer

Job Description

• Designs, installs, commissions, and tests new equipment and upgrades, including capital projects. Supervises and directs external resources when necessary.

• Recommends and oversees modifications to enhance the reliability, quality, and productivity of site equipment. Collaborates with engineering and management to develop and implement solutions to recurring issues, ensuring their effectiveness.

• Leads and participates in continuous improvement initiatives for processes, equipment, and maintenance.

• Leads and assists in troubleshooting and resolving unplanned downtime issues.

• Guides and supports technicians in troubleshooting industrial hydraulic/pneumatic systems, vacuum/water pumps, material handling systems, and other plant and furnace electrical systems.

• Mentors mechanical engineers, providing guidance on design concepts and principles, and assisting in resolving complex design issues.

• Prepares reports documenting operational performance, achievements, projects, training, and maintenance activities

Hard Skills

• BS Electrical Engineering

• 8+ years with Controls Engineer

• Heavy industrial experience

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position near Reading, Pennsylvania.

Work Environment

First shift: 8am - 5pm

Will be in office as well as in the mill. Casual dress in the office. The mill is loud and hot--will require PPE to enter
