The Department of Applied Human Sciences within the College of Health and Human Services at Western Kentucky University is seeking qualified candidates for a nine-month, non-tenure eligible faculty appointment at the rank of Instructor I in the Interior Design Program.

Key Responsibilities:
Course Development:
- Design and update curriculum for interior design courses, ensuring alignment with current industry trends and academic standards.
Instruction:
- Deliver engaging lectures, workshops, and practical experiences to foster student learning and development.
Student Support:
- Provide academic advising and career mentorship, guiding students on pathways in Interior Design.
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Create and assess student assignments, projects, and exams, offering constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
Industry Engagement:
- Establish and maintain relationships with interior design professionals, organizing guest lectures, field trips, and collaborative projects.
Professional Development:
- Stay updated on interior design and educational trends through continuous learning and development.
University Involvement:
- Participate in departmental meetings and committees, curriculum development, program reviews, university and college committees, and accreditation processes.
Community Engagement:
- Lead and participate in outreach activities that promote the program, such as workshops, exhibitions, local organizations, and local collaborations.
Technology Integration:
Incorporate relevant design software into instruction to enhance students' technical skills and industry readiness.
Job Requirements:
The candidate must be proficient on AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Revit, and other technology.
Must hold either a M.Arch, M.F.A., M.S., or M.A.
ABD will be considered if the degree will be conferred within one year of appointment.
