Barren River Child Advocacy Center Community Outreach Coordinator in Bowling Green, Kentucky

Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center, located in Bowling Green, KY, provides a safe, child-friendly location where children who have experienced abuse can receive services and begin their journey toward healing and justice.Position Title: Community Outreach CoordinatorBasic Functions: Responsible for the coordination of child abuse prevention programming and development work, including fundraising events, donor engagement, and donor management systems. This position also manages BRACAC marketing and communications.Position ResponsibilitiesPrevention Education:Presents an abuse prevention education program to children about body safety.Presents an abuse prevention education program adults about creating safer environments for children.Presents in community settings to educate the public about the Center’s mission.Fundraising and Marketing:Plans and executes fundraising and other special events.Secures sponsorships and in-kind donations from individuals, businesses, and corporations.Develops and implements processes for acknowledging and recognizing donors.Manages an active donor and prospective donor database.Maintains the Center’s website and social media accounts.Oversees the creation of promotional materials.Engages regional media outlets such as television, newspapers, and radio.Engages in child abuse-related community partnerships.Participates in staff meetings, committee work, and other organizational activities as needed.Qualifications:Four-year baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or universityThree years of experience in a development or fundraising roleThree years of experience with event planningDemonstrated success in cultivating relationshipsExcellent public speaking and presentation skillsExcellent business and professional writing, proofreading, and editing skillsHighly attentive to detailComfortable interacting with children and adultsExperience managing an organization’s website and social media accountsExperience with graphic design softwareExperience with donor management softwareProficiency with Microsoft 365 applicationsDemonstrated capacity to learn new systems or softwareAbility to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environmentCriminal background checks requiredBarren River Area Child Advocacy Center is funded in whole or in part from federal, Cabinet for Health and Family Services, and other state funds.Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center is an equal opportunity employer.
