The WKU Department of Social Work invites applications for a full-time, nine-month tenure-eligible faculty appointment at the rank of pedagogical assistant or pedagogical associate professor. The anticipated start date is August 2025.
Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will teach undergraduate courses on behalf of the Department of Social Work. Courses are offered in a variety of formats including face-to-face and online formats. The successful candidate must be willing to teach across the curriculum and be flexible in regards to teaching assignments. Teaching experience in the core areas of social work practice, research, and policy is required. In addition to teaching and university/public service duties, the successful candidate will be licensed at the master's level. Independent licensure at the LCSW level is preferred.
Job Requirements:
An earned doctorate in Social Work or a related field and an earned MSW from a CSWE accredited program.
At least 2 years of post-master's social work practice experience.
Demonstrated experience utilizing alternative modes of instructional delivery to include both synchronous and asynchronous web-based courses.
Demonstrated experience engaging with individuals across multiple cultures, disciplines, and educational/professional backgrounds.
Developed and well-defined teaching philosophy. Evidenced record of teaching effectiveness.
