This position is Monday-Friday 7AM-3PM Responsible for maintaining lawns, shrubs, trees and plantings on facility grounds, including mowing and edging lawns, planting, cultivating, transplanting, watering, and fertilizing as needed. Perform seasonal activities such as spring and fall cleanups, raking, pruning, mulching, and winter assignments, efficiently and safely as required for the upkeep of facility grounds. Ability to use, repair, and maintain general maintenance and groundskeeping tools, supplies, and equipment such as, but not limited to, hand tools, pressure washers, motorized lawn equipment, paint equipment, snow and ice removal equipment. Maintain applicable equipment inventory Perform snow removal services at all BCSO facilities when needed. Conduct daily inspections of grounds, building exteriors, and applicable maintenance equipment. Maintain detailed reports and work logs Follow all BCSO policies and procedures. Other duties as may be assigned at the discretion of the Sheriff. · Previous groundskeeping experience preferred · Knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of groundskeeping hand tools, power tools, and other such equipment · Available for emergency response 24/7, as needed · Ability to work unsupervised and unassisted · High School diploma/GED or equivalent. · A valid Massachusetts driver’s license. · Able to pass a security clearance background check and drug test. · Must demonstrate good written and oral communication skills.
