Description
We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Technical Writer in Boston, Massachusetts. This role is within the technology industry and will require the successful candidate to create and publish technical documentation for technology platforms. The workplace environment is fast-paced and ever-changing, necessitating clear communication, presentation skills, and a deep understanding of software engineering.
Responsibilities:
• Create and publish detailed API documentation and developer's guides for the technology platform
• Develop and deliver documentation for the Foundational Web Services platform
• Develop strategies for content re-use and single-sourcing
• Create sample applications to demonstrate individual components of the system
• Evaluate and select tools and technologies for the technical publications team
• Write documentation for APIs, SDKs, components, and tools
• Communicate and present complex information clearly and precisely
• Maintain updated knowledge of software engineering and programming languages such as Java, C#, or C
• Write and document code in Perl, C, PHP, and Java
• Work closely with developers, understanding and translating their needs into technical documentation
Requirements • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Mastery in technical documentation and design
• Proficient in making effective presentations
• Capable of handling and managing websites
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, PHP, Perl, and R Code
• Understanding of XML Technologies and API Development
• Experience in software engineering
• Knowledge of component selection in the technology platform
• Familiarity with source strategy and SDK
• Knowledge of design concepts in the technology field
• Experience in technical publications
• Knowledge of A Plus programming language would be beneficial
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
