Cervello Inc Staff Accountant in Boston, Massachusetts
Summary:
The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of [Company Name] by performing monthly close activities, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with revenue recognition standards. This role involves analyzing client contracts, preparing journal entries, and supporting invoicing and collections. Key Responsibilities:
Perform monthly revenue close procedures, including preparation of revenue, deferred and accrued revenue journal entries, supporting schedules, and reconciliations.
Review client contracts to ensure appropriate revenue recognition treatment and validate contract information entered in CRM systems.
Support data integrity and accuracy in client contract information across systems.
Assist with invoicing and collections processes, ensuring accurate billing and timely payments.
Prepare and review financial statements, account reconciliations, and management reports.
Assist in preparing audit and tax support schedules and provide necessary documentation for internal and external audits.
Collaborate with the FP&A team to analyze and explain monthly variances.
Compose ad hoc reports and spreadsheets as requested by management.
Identify and suggest process improvements to support business growth and evolving revenue streams.
Evaluate and help enhance financial internal controls, ensuring compliance with revenue recognition policies.
Cross-train within the accounting team to provide additional support when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
Minimum of 3 years experience in auditing or accounting.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with SAP and Salesforce is preferred.
Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and financial reporting.
Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
