The Opportunity

Procter & Gamble is seeking a Lab Operations Leader to join our Grooming team. For more than 120 years, P&G Grooming has been committed to helping individuals look, feel, and be their best. The Grooming R&D Organization is seeking an applicant with strong leadership skills to guide sensory panelists to technically evaluate products to help deliver this mission. The role requires a confident and agile individual who ideally has at least 1 year of lab supervisory experience. As a function, Sensory provides technical data to enable decisions for formula optimization, product development, quality, and claims support.

This role will lead the Sensory Lab operations & interface with lab staff & Scientists planning product evaluation tests. The Grooming Panel Leader must be learning/teaching oriented, technically curious, and innovative to ensure we stay on the leading edge for Grooming.

Position Responsibilities

  • Effectively lead contractors and panelists through methods training and implementation

  • Partner closely with sensory scientist and R&D teams, establish trust, and have open dialogues to ensure optimal solutions are offered and business needs are met.

  • Interface across multiple groups to ensure studies are completed with excellence and result in actionable data generation.

  • Work with urgency to deliver against desired timelines requiring efficiency and focused attention, balancing discipline and flexibility with changing business needs as required.

  • Share results and status updates to manager and project teams, test details to panelists, and priority and work processes with contractor agency staff.

  • Assist with troubleshooting with contractors, business partners, and technical issues.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Is passionate about experimenting with new ideas that lead to method development and/or meaningful insights and observations.

  • Is detail-oriented and analytical in nature, with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Has the ability to multitask and prioritize, work on multiple projects and manages time and teams effectively.

  • Can effectively communicate both orally, and in writing, across different audiences.

Job Qualifications

  • An Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • Ability to read and interpret work process documents such as SOPs, test method instructions, and other work process content.

  • Attention to detail to ensure proper documentation and quality data delivery.

  • Proficiency within MS Office Suite – Outlook, Calendar, Excel

  • This role requires applicant to be on site 5 days/week (5:30AM start time) to oversee and manage research panels.

Preferred:

  • 1+ years of previous lab experience, including solid foundational knowledge of test design principles and research skills, qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.

  • Previous experience working within digital laboratory information systems

Pay Range: $82,000 - $94,000

Compensation for roles at P&G varies depending on a wide array of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skill set, and level of relevant experience.
