GENERAL OVERVIEW:
This role leads a Pharmacology & Therapeutics Committee and serves as a Medication Safety Champion. Reviews drug proposals, chairs meetings to determine formulary changes, and maintains objectivity. Analyzes medication safety data, leads weekly network calls using a Just Culture approach, conducts Root Cause Analyses for adverse events, and advocates for improved medication safety practices to improve medication safety and efficacy within the network.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Pharmacology & Therapeutics Committee (35%):
Pre-work and Preparation:
Review and analyze drug formulary proposals, clinical trial data, and relevant literature.
Coordinate with committee members and stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient meeting preparation.
Chair of Meetings:
Facilitate discussions and ensure productive and efficient meetings.
Guide the committee through the decision-making process for formulary additions, deletions, and changes.
Maintain a neutral and objective stance throughout the process. 35%
Medication Safety Champion (35%):
Preparation and Pre-work:
Analyze medication safety data and identify trends.
Prepare agendas and materials for network weekly medication safety meeting.
Weekly Network Medication Safety Call:
Utilizing a Just Culture approach, conducts and coordinates weekly calls with network stakeholders.
Discuss medication safety concerns, updates, and best practices.
Facilitate communication and collaboration among network members.
Medication Root Cause Analysis:
Participate in root cause analysis investigations for medication-related adverse events.
Identify contributing factors and develop recommendations for improvement.
Stay abreast of current medication safety guidelines and best practices.Advocate for medication safety initiatives within the network. (10%)
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to promote medication safety. (10%)
Facilitates a Just Culture approach through Medication Safety. (10%)

Q UALIFICATIONS:
Required
Doctorate degree in Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
10 years of extensive experience in medication safety and clinical pharmacology.
Preferred

SKILLS:
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.

$999.00
Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations.
