This position will report to the Evaluation Manager for the Office of Community Health and will also have the opportunity to work with evaluation consultants as well as the Boston Public Health Commission. This is an excellent opportunity to apply research, evaluation and project management skills, learn how to further develop these skills in a health care environment, and contribute to Boston Children’s community mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Evaluation Manager with oversight of the Boston Children’s Hospital Community Health Needs Assessment. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and assist with execution of qualitative and quantitative data collection

  • Coordinate with city agencies to facilitate data sharing

  • Coordinate with external evaluation partner to ensure on time submission of deliverables

  • Assist the Evaluation Manager with evaluating the Youth leaders in Mental Health program. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and assist with execution of qualitative and quantitative data collection, such as focus groups and surveys

  • Coordinate and assist with trainings for community-based staff on focus group facilitation

  • Support data cleaning and initial analyses (quantitative and qualitative)

  • Act as a thought partner during analysis

  • Support the creation and maintenance of an internal data repository

  • Support development of reports and other community facing materials

  • Support submission of materials to the BCH IRB

  • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

  • Current masters level student with training in at least one of the following areas of focus: Community Health, Health Management, Health Policy

  • Experience in both qualitative and quantitative evaluation methodologies

  • Excellent writing skills

  • Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience with NViVO, SAS and/or SPSS preferred but not required

  • Able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in an organized manner

  • Ability to work independently and with teams

  • Hybrid/remote role for up to 20 hours per week and be available to start in September 2024 and available to work through June 2025
