Eliot Community Human Services Homeless Assistant Director of Enhanced Navigation & Stabilization Team in Boston, Massachusetts

Eliot’s Homeless Services Division is seeking a creative/strengths-based/trauma informed Assistant Director for our innovative model of care entitled: Enhanced Navigation and Stabilization Team. The team also provides flexible housing options for individuals served; and will operate within a large multi-agency effort to significantly reduce chronic homelessness.

The successful candidate will have unwavering empathy, as well as an open mind in terms of pathways to recovery/harm reduction when collaboratively working with people experiencing homelessness, medical complexity, and/or untreated behavioral health concerns (e.g. PTSD).

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise assigned case management to include hiring, coaching and performance management.

  • Support the Director of Enhanced Navigation and Stabilization with general administrative oversight of the program

  • Carry active caseload of assigned clients for housing navigation and interim stabilization services.

  • Screen, assess, and develop and implement comprehensive trauma informed care plan that includes a viable housing pathway for assigned clients that reflects identified needs and treatment preferences of the person served.

  • Provide staff orientation and training to program requirements, policies and procedures as assigned.

  • Serve as a resource/consultant for community-based stakeholders as applicable (e.g. COC, Boston Public Health Commission, MHSA, Shelter Sites).

  • Serve as a program liaison with the City of Boston’s Street to Home Project and Shattuck Cottages.

  • Along with the Director of Enhanced Navigation and Stabilization: collect, track and oversee upload of data correlated to client outcomes to HMIs/Rehousing Data Collaborative. Provide reports and trend analysis per contract with Massachusetts Housing and Shelter Alliance (MHSA). Make appropriate modifications to programming as needed.

    Qualifications :

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, nursing or other closely related field.

  • At least two years of experience providing exemplary housing navigation and stabilization services to the unsheltered homeless population.

  • Must have strong assessment, treatment planning/implementation and organizational skills.

  • Must demonstrate proven ability to leverage internal/external continuums of care to meet identified needs of people served.

  • Ability to provide systemic and administrative guidance to both clinical and paraprofessional staff.

  • Maintain knowledge of and methods to identify and access community resources - especially housing systems (RRH/COC/Balance of State/Permanent, Project Based, Transitional Housing).

    Schedule: Monday - Friday
