Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Controls Specialist in Boston, Massachusetts
This position is 100% on-site Monday through Friday 3-11pm and is eligible for the Evening Shift Differential!

Monitor and troubleshoot all control systems DDC, Electrical, Pneumatic
Implement training programs pertaining to the DDC systems, updating software revisions, writing new programs to better control mechanical systems.
Monitor and support Fire protection control systems.
Work closely with the Energy Manager to assist in energy management initiatives.
Meet monthly with HVAC supervisor and Energy Manager concerning program changes to system operations.
Develop preventive maintenance documents to maintain reliability and control function to perform at their maximum capabilities.
Interface with numerous contractors, engineers and institute professionals.
Coordinates with all trades to keep all systems operating at the highest reliability.
Make periodic rounds to check all building support equipment and maintain operating log of conditions observed.
Responsible for maintaining accurate records for all control systems and energy management programs.
Responsible for maintaining records of work done, time records and P/M records through the CMMS system.
Must attend a minimum of 2 weeks of Control system training at Managements discretion
May be required to be on call.
Must provide the highest level of personal safety protection at all times.
May be required to perform outside normal job areas at the direction of his supervisor in the interest of a safe environment.
High school graduate,some college scholastic preparation preferred.
Technical training and experience as H.V.A.C. Mechanic, or Supervisor.
Licensed as a refrigeration mechanic with E.P.A. certification Type I & II.
Sufficient previous experience as licensed tradesperson.
Knowledge of blueprint reading, drafting, estimating, building construction standards, and national, state and local codes and regulations.
Computer knowledge a plus. Minimum of 5 years experience on DDC systems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Mechanical knowledge of occupational machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
The ability to arrange assignments or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule, procedure, or guideline.
Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to utilize tools of the trade.
The ability to communicate information and listen to and comprehend information and ideas.
