78709BRJob Posting Title:Clinical Research Assistant I-Advanced Cardiac ImagingDepartment:CardiologyAutoReqId:78709BRStatus:Part-TimeStandard Hours per Week:40 Job Posting Category:ResearchJob Posting Description:For immediate hire The Research Assistant’s main responsibility will be helping with the FORCE initiative (http://www.forceregistry.org), an international registry for Fontan patients (patients with a single ventricle or only one pumping chamber). The primary goal of the registry is to create the world’s most comprehensive Fontan data set to date with patient history, clinical outcomes, and imaging data. With this dataset, we will apply advanced analytics and will leverage the power of artificial intelligence and machine learning to predict outcomes. The ideal candidate is tech-enabled, can do some limited statistical analysis and will aide in the writing of manuscripts. Depending on the quality of the work, co-authorship in several manuscripts would be a reasonable expectation. The Research Assistant will work closely with and be mentored by a Pediatric Cardiologist. This position is ideal for someone who is interested in clinical research and looking to go to medical school. A 2 year time commitment is preferred, the Clinical Research Assistant will join a team of 6-7 individuals all working towards the same goal.

This Clinical Research Assistant will be responsible for:
Responsible for medical record extraction and collection for the FROCE Registry.
Creates and prepares data collection statistical reports and analytical summaries for distribution to the study research team for review and analysis.
Acts as a resource to study participants, addressing any concerns they may have.
Troubleshoots the resolution of any issues that may arise throughout the study.
Coordinates and prepares the necessary documentation for Institutional Review Board IRB and Committee on Clinical Investigations CCI submissions, together with the Private Investigator of the study.
Writes articles and summary papers of studies for submission to medical journals, as may be necessary/requested.
Participates in the training of newly hired research study assistants, as required.
Communicates project policies and procedures to personnel. Monitors and reviews data collection and data entry, and informed consent procedures ensuring consistency of application for each study. Performs other miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned or required.
In order to qualify, you must have:
A Bachelor's Degree in STEM.
Work requires a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in health science, engineering, or computer science.
Work requires critical attention to detail and follow through of assigned tasks.
Work requires ability to multitask and juggle numerous simultaneous responsibilities.
Work requires working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets.
Willingness to learn new technologies.
Work requires the ability and desire to work effectively as part of a team and communicate both orally and in writing with site study coordinators.
Knowledge of statistical software (R, SPSS, SAS) is a plus.
