Boston Children’s is currently hiring in our Neurology Dept for an Administrative Supervisor 1
Supervisor will participate in hiring/onboarding process for new administrative staff; interview, hire, orient, and train new staff.
Supervisor will coach, develop, and discipline staff as necessary.
Monitor staffing and scheduling for administrative staff.
Organize work and workflow processes.
Conduct annual performance appraisals and recommend merit increases in conjunction with manager and consistent with Hospital policy.
Conduct regular staff meetings.
May serve as point person when manager is absent.
Organize and maintain daily administrative operations of department.
Prepare departmental payroll and maintain related records. Prepare periodic reports and documents to comply with hospital, governmental, regulatory and/or funding agency requirements.
Ensure patient satisfaction by providing positive and effective customer service; monitor and assess management and operations for patient satisfaction; recommend and implement improvements to service.
Monitor budgets and payroll, resolve variances, prepare reports and maintain related records and documentation.
Purchase office supply needs through established department protocols to ensure efficient office operations.
Maximize revenue by ensuring all appropriate registration and administrative paperwork is generated at the time of patient registration and processed in a timely manner for billing purposes.
Monitor Electronic Medical Records for accuracy
Work on special projects and provides detailed analyses and reports on findings as requested by management
To qualify, you must have:
Bachelor’s preferred.
2-3 years of previous health care admin experience.
One year of lead or supervisory experience is preferred
Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
Demonstrated knowledge of hospital systems, operations and managed care.
Flexibility to work one weekend per month and occasional evening shifts.
