The Doe Run Company is seeking an Excavator Operator to operate an excavator and front-end loader in order to move, resize, and remove materials throughout the plant. This nightshift position is located at our Buick Resource Recycling Division in Boss. MO.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of mobile equipment operation experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to operate front end loader, track hoe and haul truck.
  • Ability to use a hydraulic hammer.
  • Experience performing minor maintenance tasks on machines and tools.
  • Ability to identify feeds and types of slag.
  • Ability to identify proper storage locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate excavator to clean and maintain areas such as blast furnace crane aisle, slag containment, sedimentation containment, stormwater tank, and other areas as needed.
  • Operate other mobile equipment such as front-end loader, haul truck, roll-off truck, forklift, and bobcat as needed to support operations.
  • Operate dredge and centrifuge for plant clean-up processing.
  • Perform minor maintenance on equipment.
  • Identify different types of feed and slag material in order to ensure proper storage and processing.
  • Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health, and safety) policies, procedures, and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment Physical and Lifting:

  • Regularly required to wear personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to, respirator, hearing protection and eyewear, exposure to vibration, loud noise levels, and extreme heat, Occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions as well as outdoor weather conditions.
  • Regularly requires grasping and repetitive movement. Frequently requires sitting, feeling attributes of objects, pushing, and driving. Occasionally requires hearing, reaching with hands/arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Requires clarity of vision at 20 feet or more and 20 inches or less, three-dimensional vision, the ability to identify and distinguish colors, the ability to judge distance and spatial relationships, and precise hand-eye coordination.
  • Frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
