What Internal Audit-IT contributes to Cardinal Health

Internal Audit - IT is responsible for conducting IT systems audits of networks, databases, systems, applications and other IT components to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and laws. Evaluates and recommends improvements to business practices, processes and control procedures. Closely aligns with Internal Audit - Finance to provide an integrated understanding of how IT risks impact financial and operational processes.

  • Applies knowledge of auditing and internal control concepts to evaluate IT networks, databases, systems, applications and other IT components.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of IT systems design and architecture, process flows, process documentation and internal control identification.

  • Leverages project management skills to define audit testing plans, execute and document internal controls testing, and document testing results and related audit findings.

  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills to interact with others in a constructive manner that builds trust.

  • Clearly and accurately documents IT systems design and architecture, IT operational processes and related audit findings.

Responsibilities

  • Performs audits of IT processes and technologies

  • Responsible for the day-to-day execution of internal audit risk assessment, planning, fieldwork, and reporting activities; leads meetings with business and IT stakeholders, conducts walkthroughs, performs internal control testing, identifies findings, develops recommendations and action plans; creates audit reports; prepares risk assessment, project initiation, reporting, observation, audit project closure and status reporting documentation

  • Participates in risk assessment interviews with business and IT stakeholders; recommends areas for future audit projects and supports the maintenance of the quarterly audit plan

  • Coordinate updates on the status of action plans across the organization to drive resolution of findings

  • Mentors and assists with professional development of audit department staff

  • Collaborates with Internal Audit – Finance on the planning and execution of integrated audit projects

  • Support internal audit department initiatives including management of internal audit technologies, methodology, data analytics, training, and continuous improvement programs

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in business related field preferred, or equivalent work experience, preferred

  • 3+ years experience in related IT Internal Audit field preferred

  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certifications preferred

  • Strong understanding of IT processes and infrastructure including network, business applications, servers, databases, and middleware; ability to evaluate systems, security governance, IT transformation projects, and related risks
