An Equipment Engineer is an integral member of the Wet Etch team at Micron Technology and enables our development of best-in-class memory technology. The primary focus of this role is the utilization of fundamental equipment knowledge to characterize and drive continuous improvement projects on existing Wet Process tools and next generation equipment. Success is derived through partnership with the process development team and effective project management of vendor resources to achieve process technology and productivity benchmarks. Equipment Engineers will need to utilize creative experimental techniques to solve unique technical challenges associated with Process and Hardware issues.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Wet Process Equipment sustainment, including system upgrades, tool installs and de-installs.

  • Drive and manage vendor execution to meet goals and timelines.

  • Provide hardware technical support to the Wet Process area.

  • Execute against project milestones - close hardware gaps before transfer to manufacturing.

  • Partner with process engineering to define hardware roadmaps. This includes wafer processing hardware, diagnostics, data collection requirements, and hardware quality control/variation reduction.

  • Establish productive Vendor relations to maintain Supplier engagement to achieve Best in Class equipment metrics.

  • An electromechanical or hardware derived work history/education

  • Ability to generate data-based problem statements and success criteria.

  • Effective project management skills achieving goals and timelines.

  • Ability to work in a fast-changing environment - adapt to and embrace change.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneously.

  • Strong computer skills, or minimally the ability to learn quickly new programs like JMP and other data analysis programs.

Education :

BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Semiconductor equipment experience is necessary. Some background in IIOT or computer science background is preferred.
