Job Description
The Vice President of Consultant Relations is responsible for the strategic account management of national benefit consulting groups. This position is responsible for developing and executing on the strategy to engage the consulting firms, with the end goal of generating a working knowledge of Prime’s service offering and value in the marketplace that results in increased RFP activity, improved sales results, higher account retention, and expansion of business.
Responsibilities
Establish and maintain trusted, strategic relationships between Prime and benefits consultants at the national level in order to enhance and strengthen Prime's reputation within the consulting community
Lead and manage activities, communications, and continuing education efforts with national consulting firms, including the relationship between Prime’s internal sales teams and the national consulting firm
Leverage a deep knowledge of the competitive PBM landscape to analyze and interpret market and industry trends; provide insight to sales, product management and other key internal partners regarding opportunities for service and product innovation
Execute alignment and executive sponsorship with Prime’s key national consulting firms
Partner closely with sales team to drive and support new business development and growth
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business or related area of study
15 years of work experience in consulting, account management and/or sales
5 years of work experience with PBM or managed care organizations
10 years of leadership/people management experience
Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship
Additional Qualifications
Excellent executive presence and presentation skills
In-depth knowledge of the competitive landscape (pharmacy and health)
Excellent planning and execution skills
Strong interpersonal skills, including team leadership, conflict resolution and listening
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to openly, positively and clearly communicate with a variety of constituents
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or Pharmacist
Prior experience managing a consultant relationship
Knowledge and experience with the benefits underwriting process
Minimum Physical Job Requirements
Ability to travel up to 60% of the time
Constantly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear
Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch
Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Reporting Structure
- Reports to VP/GM National and Mid Market Accounts
Potential pay for this position ranges from $187,200.00 - $318,600.00 based on experience and skills. Pay range may vary by 8% depending on applicant location.
