Description:

The Critical Care Float Pool at our Level II Trauma Center in Boise, Idaho, is looking for a new member to join the team! This position will be located at our Regional Medical Center (https://www.saintalphonsus.org/location/saint-alphonsus-regional-medical-center) off I-184 and Curtis Rd.

A day in the life of an RN in the Critical Care Float Pool can look like :

  • Gain experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment within a Level II Trauma Center and Level I Comprehensive Stroke Center , where every day presents new challenges and learning experiences.

  • Play a pivotal role in providing cutting-edge , next-level care for critically ill patients. Whether stabilizing conditions or implementing complex treatment plans, you’ll be directly contributing to patients’ recovery in their most vulnerable moments.

  • Enjoy the flexibility and excitement of floating between multiple high-acuity units, including the ICU , CICU , CVICU , Neuro Surgical Trauma ICU , and the Emergency Department . You’ll become an expert in diverse areas of critical care, keeping every shift fresh and engaging.

  • Become a key player in managing the highest acuity cases in the region, treating patients with a wide range of complex needs, from neuro and cardiac care to surgical and trauma . You’ll be at the center of life-saving interventions, making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.

  • As a float nurse, you’ll thrive in an environment that empowers you to work independently and autonomously . Rely on your critical thinking skills and clinical expertise to make split-second decisions in high-stakes situations, demonstrating both your competence and confidence in caring for patients.

About you:

  • You currently hold an Idaho or multistate RN license

  • If you have a multistate license you would need to establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within 6 months of hire

  • You have your Basic Life Support

  • You are willing to obtain your Advance Cardiovascular Life Support for HealthCare Provider (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire and your Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) NRP, and TNCC certificationswithin 12 months of hire

  • You have prior critical care experience in an acute care setting with a high acuity critical patient population
