Responsibilities

Sustaining Engineering

  • Monitor, maintain, and improve equipment and processes for optimal CD, CD Uniformity, minimum feature resolution, and defectivity, with focus on blank surface preparation, resist coating, and resist develop processes

  • Monitor product & test results and SPC to identify trends in processes requiring intervention

  • Sustain and support reticle manufacturing

  • Provide guidance and expertise on root cause of quality deviation (defectivity, CD targeting, CD uniformity, resolution, etc.)

  • Analyze out of control or out of spec reticles and associated materials, tools, processes, and process flows to discover root causes, and implement countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence

  • Monitor production and engineering WIP status daily, and stay abreast of fab-wide yield issues, tool health, and process excursions

  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and alarms

  • Work closely with tool suppliers and equipment support & manufacturing personnel to maintain tool uptime and utilization goals

  • Document procedures, trouble-shooting guides, project plans/status/results, and supporting materials

  • Mentor and train other engineers within and outside coat/dev team on processes, methods, and theory

  • Work closely with personnel from other process areas such as Lithography, Etch, Cleans, Inspection, and Metrology, and continually increase knowledge and understanding in those areas

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance in sustaining engineering activities and projects

Process Development

  • Develop new blank cleans, coat, and develop processes (plan, carry out, analyze, document, and present experiments) to improve patterning and/or defect performance

  • Evaluate and develop processes for new materials, blanks, resists, technologies

  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies, processes, and materials with enhanced capability or efficiency

  • Monitor equipment supplier roadmaps, evaluate new equipment, and make recommendations to MTC & suppliers regarding roadmap alignment

  • Evaluate, participate in installation process, qualify, and implement new coat/dev equipment into production

  • Collaborate with tool suppliers and equipment engineers to enhance current equipment capabilities through continuous improvement projects (CIP) and in-house developed solutions

  • Develop new methods or enhance current methodologies for quality improvement, efficiency, or cost reduction

  • Write code to make processes more efficient and/or error-free

  • Learn and practice problem solving BKM’s, such as Model Based Problem Solving (MBPS), 8D, and others

  • Learn and employ Data Science practices

Requirements

  • 1 year experience in reticle or semiconductor process engineering or manufacturing

  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Demonstrated ownership in previous job responsibilities

  • Demonstrated good interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated excellent problem-solving skills

  • Willing to work flexible schedule if it is required

Education

B.S. in engineering or natural science discipline
