Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a well-rounded Maintenance Mechanic to join our team on a long-term basis. The ideal candidate will have a history in maintenance, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic machinery. Experience with CNC machinery is highly desirable as this role will involve significant work on such machines. In addition, the role includes various facilities maintenance tasks such as plumbing, changing light bulbs, and basic patching/painting. This position requires flexibility to assist in other departments when needed, including operating CNC machines or helping with Health and Safety. The selected candidate will be the sole Mechanic on the team.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance on machine motors, pneumatic cylinders, CNC, and manual production machines.
Troubleshoot malfunctions by following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock levels, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt.
Ensure a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Essential Skills
High level of knowledge in electrical and pneumatic components.
Experience in machining to fabricate repair parts.
Relevant experience with industrial machine shop machinery (minimum 2-3 years): Haas CNC, grinders, manual mills, lathes.
Ability to troubleshoot PLCs and repair CNC machinery.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Appropriate degree from a technical school is a plus.

Work Environment
Work in a small-to-medium-sized machine shop with approximately 30 employees. The facility is equipped with various types of CNC, grinder, punch press, and laser cutting machines. Shifts are flexible, with options for either 4x10 (Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30pm) or 5x8 (Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm). Dress code is casual: jeans, t-shirt, and closed-toed shoes.
