Are you aLicensed Practical NurseorRegistered Nursewho would like to work Monday through Friday with holidays off? The Residential Care Assisted Living Facilities Program (RALF) is currently accepting applications from LPN’s and RN’s for the position of Health Facility Surveyor. RALF surveyors conduct licensure surveys, investigate complaints, and provide training and technical assistance to assist residential care facilities in complying with rules and regulations related to the operation of RALF’s throughout the state. This position is critical in ensuring quality healthcare is provided to Assisted Living residents throughout the state. Surveyors travel around 40% of the time.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

  • Ensure the residents of Idaho’s RALFs receive quality care in a safe, humane, home-like living environment where their rights are protected.

  • Conduct on-site inspections of residential care assisted living facilities.

  • Interview residents, staff, outside services, family and advocates.

  • Intake and investigate complaints.

  • Provide assistance and information to industry, advocates, residents and other interested parties.

  • Develop and deliver instructional materials and presentations to provide industry education.

  • Partner with other agencies in investigations, referrals and education activities.

  • 40% Travel throughout Idaho – Health Facility Surveyors often travel throughout the state and typically spend Monday through Friday, every other week, out of town. These positions are located in Boise only but have the option of a hybrid telework.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

You must possess all the minimum and specialty minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Please make sure your resume or work history supports your meeting the minimum and specialty qualifications for this position. It is highly recommended to attach a one-page cover letter to your application to demonstrate how you meet the requirements below.

  • Experience in methods of negotiation and public relations. Typically gained by at least six months experience.

  • Experience preparing oral and written reports. Typically gained by at least six months experience preparing oral and written reports.

  • Experience operating a personal computer. Typically met by at least six months of experience operating a personal computer as an integral part of the job.

  • A valid drivers license.

SPECIALTY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires state licensure as a Practical Nurse or state licensure as a Practical Nurse pursuant to the Nurse Licensure Compact State, Idaho Code 54-1418.For licensure information, please contact the Idaho Board of Nursing at http://ibn.idaho.gov or call 208-577-2476.

Below is preferred experience. It is not required for the position but applicants with this experience may receive consideration over other applicants.

  • At least one year of RN or LPN experience providing medical care or oversight in a health care delivery system, (e.g., an institution, clinic, or office setting, either military or civilian)
