Job Description

As a Facilities Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for strategic automation for facilities facing program needs (site level) along with direct ownership of Manufacturing Process Equipment Optimization (MPEO) goal for the Facilities department.

Project Management/Planning:

  • Coordinates portfolio of planned facilities automation projects and helps shape strategic decisions

  • Defines and leads multi-disciplinary efficiency projects

  • Collaborates with other Facilities Departments to ensure projects are funded and resourced correctly

  • Works with appropriate personnel to address problems or make corrections

Technical/Data Analysis:

  • Uses data analytics to drive action, improve performance, gain efficiency, and achieve cost savings

  • Builds and maintains planning models, outlining efficiency trends and forecasts

  • Uses root cause analysis to effectively resolve issues and is highly engaged in key problem resolution

  • Provides base build consultation and automation support to Operations, Maintenance, Manufacturing and other department/sites

Supports executive and corporate requests/assignments

  • Partners with key collaborators to identify gaps and opportunities for equipment/process efficiencies

  • Supports benchmarking activities on operational, procedural, and engineering facilities systems

  • Maintains applicable subject area knowledge, data analytics and dashboard creation

Communication/Collaboration:

  • Collaborates with customers on the program status and future automation enhancements for the site

  • Presents and explains projects scopes and opportunities to facilities leadership and executives

  • Partners with capacity planners, operations, and construction teams to calculate risk prioritization numbers (RPN)

  • Participates in mid to long term infrastructure planning for facilities in support of the overall company plan

Safety:

  • Completes all required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with Micron’s safety policies

  • Follows all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws

  • Reports all safety-related concerns or problems immediately to the appropriate individual (Emergency Response Team, Supervision, etc.)

  • Performs audits and submits good catches on safety issues

Qualifications:

  • Excellent multi-tasking, time-management, organization and prioritization skills

  • Proven ability to communicate complex analysis and technical information in a succinct and actionable manner

  • Proven ability to plan, drive and complete projects effectively

  • Proven ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage multiple tasks

  • Demonstrated ability to be meticulous, follow complex procedures, and work with minimal supervision

  • Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot complex problems and address root causes

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel and Power Point

  • Strong understanding of data extraction, data analysis and visualization methodologies

  • Experience or knowledge of data collection, warehousing systems, and data cleansing

Education and Experience:

  • Required: BS in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Operations, or relevant experience

  • Preferred: Tableau, PowerBI or other relevant data science skills

  • Preferred: Prior engineering internship
