R1 RCM Director of Payer Escalations in Boise, Idaho

As our Director of Payer Escalations , you will help drive additional client value through payer escalations of hospital underpayments inventory. Every day you will work cross-functionally with Client Delivery, Resolution Services, and Validation teams to escalate issues to payers and clients. To thrive in this role, you must pair your data analysis and organization skills along with your deep understanding of revenue cycle operations including hospital underpayments to stand up a new function within R1.
Here’s what you will experience working as a Director of Payer Escalations :
Design new provider escalations strategy for Hospital Underpayments Team.
Create protocols to review data and analyze inflows across 180 clients to prepare inventory for escalation, including escalation assessment.
Work with operations teams to gather required documentation for escalations. Compile payer and issue trend summaries that could support Client Delivery escalation.
Communicate with insurance payers to escalate and resolve underpayment issues, either directly or by handing off inventory to Client Delivery for escalation.
Work with the Resolution Services Group for targeted and specific follow-up on escalated cases.
Maintain detailed records of all communications and actions taken to resolve underpayment cases within R1 tools.
Monitor and track the status of escalated cases to ensure timely resolution.
Provide regular updates and reports on the status of underpayment cases to senior management.
Required Skills:
Leadership experience directing healthcare revenue cycle management teams
Deep understanding of revenue cycle operations, insurance payer policies, and reimbursement methodologies.
Ability to make informed decisions and solve problems relating to Hospital Underpayments, pursuit and escalation.
Ability to use Microsoft Excel and Power BI to analyze and organize large data sets. Microsoft SMSS experience is a plus!
Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and hospital executives.
Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
For this US-based position, the base pay range is $112,151.00 - $167,640.70 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
This job is eligible to participate in our annual bonus plan at a target of 20.00%
