Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a Department Clerk II to join our Customer Operations team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. What does a Department Clerk II do for us?

Under general direction and acting on their own initiative and direction, a Department Clerk II provides moderately complex support for one or more departments or administrative units. The work is generally of a critical or confidential nature and requires broad knowledge of company and/or department procedures.

Typical duties include:

  • Research for routine and moderately complex reports and special assignments

  • Special or continuous research and moderately complex data analysis

  • Problem analysis, determining approach, compiling, and analyzing of data

  • Prepare reports/recommendations for action by superiors

Will also perform the following tasks:

  • Receives, compiles, and summarizes information from multiple sources

  • Compiles information and prepares reports

  • Coordinates information or processes/procedures

  • Responsible for filing systems and developing office procedures

  • Researches and prepares basic reports and correspondence of a routine nature

  • Distributes and/or relays information to internal/external customers only after review and with approval

  • Answers the PBX Operator line, transferring customers to the correct location

  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance and performs other duties as assigned

A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

Knowledge of:

  • Basic operation of standard office equipment such as FAX, PC, calculator, and electronic devices

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite applications

Skills in:

  • Editing and proofreading to assist in composing the format and content of correspondence and technical documents

  • Proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar when proofreading

Ability to:

  • Understand and apply basic mathematical calculations and concepts involving fractions, decimals, percentages, etc.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • High school Diploma or GED

Experience:

  • 3 or more years of related experience

OR

  • Equivalent combination of formal education and work experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. There may be occasional lifts of no more than 25lbs from floor. The above is a summary of the primary essential functions of the position. Scheduling can vary but will fall within the hours of 7:00am – 5:00pm.
