Under close supervision, this entry level position performs routine aspects of engineering assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles. Applies knowledge of engineering principles to prescribed techniques and procedures to complete project assignments.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
Assist with preparation of detailed design documents including: plans technical specs, calculations, reports, permits, accurately and timely
Collect, gather and research catalog info, on-line info, etc.
Develop effective writing skills for both technical and non-technical applications
Assist with review of shop drawings, submittals and contractor requisitions
Communicate finding of field inspections and issues to immediate manager timely
Field work including construction observation, sample collection, etc.
Prepare field inspection reports in accordance with company standards
Maintain communication documentation and project file
Expand technical competence
Networking and participation in a professional organization
Attend internal PWGC engineering and environmental trainings. Attend external trainings (as applicable)
Timely completion of all project documents, maintain project budgets
Follow QA/QC guidelines, complete timesheet daily
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: All degrees must be from an ABET accredited program.
Bachelor of Science, Engineering Degree or
4-year Engineering Technology Degree with one year of experience and successful passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (FE) or
2-year Engineering Science / Technology with 3 years of experience and successful passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (FE).
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum zero - three year's experience with successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: Inter Engineer (IE)
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Effective technical writing skills. MS Office, AutoCad and Deltek Vision. Surveying equipment. Travel required, lift 50 lbs. Strong ability to effectively communicate technical information to all types of people, both verbally and in writing; multitask and coordinate confusing and often conflicting priorities; strong communication, decision-making, analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills. Contractor oversight and organizational skills.
Salary: $65,000 - $75,000
