Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of Global Human Resources Technology ensuring specific business goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are compliant with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Accountabilities

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. Develops a close partnership with their user and technology/engineering stakeholders.

  • Provides overall direction to design and implement SAP SuccessFactors (SFSF) initiatives. Contributes to the business analysis effectiveness of the SFSF applications.

  • Resolves configuration issues until a final production solution is approved. This includes conducting research and analysis, accurately and clearly defining user requirements and processes, and liaising with Lab and/or project team members.

  • Helps with the formulation of deployment strategies for projects and business as usual (BAU) ensuring compatibility with existing HR systems.

  • Supports Lab and/or project team members in security assessments as a main point-of-contact, working with different areas to provide the answers required.

  • Invests in team capabilities by providing knowledge transfer to team members, planning appropriate training to ensure the highest standards.

  • The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that management is kept informed, and that problems and issues are escalated appropriately.

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

  • Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

  • Participates in project implementations by helping to define business requirements and processes in order to ensure that there is no impact with current deployed applications.

  • Continually acquire and enhance knowledge of the Division’s business strategies and policies, risk management practices and methodologies, product offerings, financial markets, financial instruments, regulatory requirements, Back Office processes, and rapidly changing technology to be able to provide effective business solutions and services to the end user business lines.

Dimensions

  • Provide configuration expertise and support for SAP SuccessFactors applications as required.

  • Work across teams to understand and communicate impact of change requests andnew requirements.

  • Lead conversation with business users and provide guidance on configuration and best practices.

  • Work with Lab members and understand impacts of configuration, providing guidance according to SAP SuccessFactors leading practices. Propose alternate solutions to the Lab members as and when needed.

  • Stakeholder management includes to at least at the Director level.

  • Have strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze cause and effect relationships.

  • Able to manage and deliver multiple priorities in a constrained timeline.

Education / Experience / Other Information (include only those that are specific to the role)

  • A degree in IT Business / Management or engineering related discipline.

  • 3-5+ years combined SAP SuccessFactors experience, preference Employee Central.

  • Experience in at least one large scale SAP SuccessFactors implementation project.

  • Certification of SAP SuccessFactors, preference Employee Central.

  • Provide direction to business analysts on solution designs for SAP SuccessFactors.

  • Ability to work independently and often at the abstract or conceptual level under the general guidance of their manager.

  • Working knowledge of JIRA.

  • Knowledge of HR business processes.

  • Fully bilingual English and Spanish.

  • Expertise in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
