Would you like to be part of a team focused on increasing awareness and adoption of Amazon Web Services (AWS) by engaging with public sector organizations in Latin America who are reinventing their IT strategy by adopting cloud? Do you have the business savvy, industry experience and the technical background necessary to help further establish AWS as a leading cloud platform provider? As a Velocity Capture Manager focusing on quick reaction deals, you will have the exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mindshare and broad use of AWS Cloud across Public Sector customers in Latin America. Your responsibilities will include working with the AWS sales teams, the Regional Capture Managers and with AWS Partners to respond to near-term opportunities to drive AWS Cloud adoption. This fast-growing industry requires talent, agile enough to balance many opportunities against multiple partners under demanding timelines. The candidate must show background in capture management and experience with deal execution under tight timelines and the ability to work across many stakeholders to “get to yes”.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Key job responsibilities

As a Velocity Capture Manager, you will:

• Monitor bid postings / quick reaction deals and work with regional capture manager to respond to previously unidentified opportunities.

• Develop relationships with partners and partner sales managers, to quickly identify those partners that can help promote AWS against tight timelines

• Support partners bidding AWS services with proposal content for their submission

• Help build a business process and mechanism that allows for quick response to indirect opportunities

• Understand and navigate government contracting vehicles and procedures. Be a thought leader with respect to program pursuit, proposal responses, win strategies, technical discriminators, solutions providers and pricing.

• Up to 20% travel required

• Build relationships with third party partners

• Communicate efficiently in both English and Spanish (read/write/speak), Portuguese desired

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of business development and/or sales experience of IT and Public Sector business development management.

  • Experience identifying and leading competitive procurement of complex deal management and pre-sales experience.

  • Excellent communicator who can quickly earn the respect of the team and customers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or equivalent degree. Excellent communication and writing skills.

  • Self-motivated with a great sense of urgency and follow-through.

  • Must have a good understanding of government procurement and government contract vehicles.

  • Must have the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.

  • Acts in accordance with vision, mission and established goals.
