Pay Rate :

$81,700 – $108,900

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

The Job You Will Perform:

  • Supports and leads efforts at Bogalusa Mill that include an injury-free environment through role modeling safe behavior, active involvement in safety activities and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment

  • Completes the First Line Leader (FLL) Onboarding/Proficiency Curriculum

  • Manages a shift of hourly operators in the Pulp department; keeps all necessary equipment functioning to meet mill needs

  • Coordinates and leads efforts to support high performance work teams

  • Leadership role in ensuring team member relations, efforts, and processes are in place to maximize team member engagement and results

  • Leads, provides guidance, and/or supports teams as needed to achieve small team goals, daily responsibilities, and overall achievement of mill goals

  • Manages daily shift operations in their assigned area and a focus on continuous improvement

  • Provides feedback, coaching, support and, when necessary, take corrective measures, to ensure all team members have a positive, productive, and safe work environment

  • Communicates as needed with team members and mill leadership for resolution of safety, quality, cost, production, and personnel issues

  • Communicates and lead the application of facility policies and standards

  • Hold meaningful one-to-one discussions with members of the Pulp crew; set clear expectations for both team and individuals and motivate team members to strive for success

  • Provide leadership to troubleshoot operation issues

  • Develops, maintains, and uses reliable methods for all processes and their improvements.

  • Maintains and develops team relationships

  • Manage Lockout/ Hot Work and Vessel entry programs

The Skills You Will Bring:

Minimum

  • Working knowledge and experience in power plants and/or recovery operations

  • Demonstrated and successful leadership ability in a manufacturing environment, including knowledge of and leadership in manufacturing safety practices.

  • Must have a high level of integrity, energy, and leadership ability to develop and lead others.

  • Demonstrated and successful ability to lead and continuously improve team performance in order to work injury-free, provide a quality product, and achieve world class productivity in support of a high performance work system.

  • Effective oral and written communications skills with proven ability to provide positive and improvement feedback, coaching opportunities, and take corrective measures as appropriate.

Preferred

  • College Degree Preferred

  • Strong computer skills required

  • Experience working power plant or recovery operations

  • Excellent skills in organizing, planning, priority setting, and time management, with proven ability to adapt to sudden changes in the work environment

  • Ability to effectively facilitate problem solving or conflict resolution processes.
