Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University's Human Resource Department is seeking a Manager, Training & Development - Boca Raton, FL.

Reporting directly to the Associate Director for Employee Relations and Development in Human Resources, the Manager, Training & Development has primary responsibility to administer and manage employee development for the University. This includes creating, designing, implementation, and delivery of comprehensive training and professional development initiatives and programs. This role is the in-house expert and primary point of contact, to coordinate all needs and efforts for employee development and navigates pathways for employees to build and/or improve skills and competencies.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Organizational Training & Development: The Manager, Training & Development, leads the design, development, and implementation of programs, policies, and strategies tailored to meet Organizational Development needs and program goals.

  • Collaborate in the development of learning solutions that align with diverse learning styles and objectives.

  • Establish and maintain training metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure compliance with training standards.

  • Conduct gap analyses to identify areas for continuous improvement and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, adjusting as needed.

  • Manage Bizlibrary, an e-learning platform designed to help employees achieve their personal and professional development goals.

  • Oversees the delivery of both in-person and online training programs, manages training systems and databases, and performs ongoing evaluations to ensure the effectiveness of training initiatives.

New Hire Orientation: The Manager, Training & Development manages, administers, and coordinates the new hire orientation program.

  • Manage, coordinate, and administer the weekly New Hire Orientation program for all new employees.

  • Partner with departments and external vendors to ensure a seamless onboarding process.

Performance Management: The Manager, Training & Development oversees the annual performance evaluation.

  • Oversee the annual performance evaluation and merit bonus processes, guiding divisions, campuses, departments, managers, and supervisors on policies and expectations.

  • Provide support and resources to employees and supervisors on performance management procedures.

  • Launch and manage performance appraisals and related training through the HRIS system (Workday).

Annual Employee Service Awards: The Manager, Training & Development is responsible for university wide Employee Service Awards and Special Awards.

  • Lead the planning and execution of the University's Annual Employee Service Awards, including special recognition honors.

  • Collaborate with donors, vendors, departments, and employees to organize all aspects of the event.

Other Duties – In addition, as a key member of the Human Resources team, the Manager, Training & Development, is expected to perform related duties to primary functions and serve on assigned/appointed committees as needs arise. Related duties include (but is not limited) to the following:

  • Approve transactions and input relevant data into the University’s HRIS system (Workday).

  • Maintain training records in systems like Workday and BizLibrary.

  • Update content on the HR website as needed.

  • Participate in University accreditation committees and contribute to accreditation-related activities.

  • Perform data analysis and prepare reports or presentations for leadership.

  • Monitor University regulations, policies, and procedures, recommending changes to meet evolving needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.

Occasional travel is required for both visiting other FAU campuses and for attending training, conferences, or other professional development opportunities, activities or events.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Organizational Behavior, or a related field.

Three to five years of experience in organizational training, new hire orientation and/performance management experience.

Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Possess strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to proactively disseminate updates and conduct in-person and online presentations to various audiences.

One to two years of experience in developing and implementing organization-wide training programs.

Experience with design tools and learning management systems such as Canvas, Piktochart, BizLibrary, and/or Adobe.

Previous experience in higher education or public sector environments is a plus.

Additional years of qualifying HR experience and/or completion of HR and/or related certifications may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience or education.

Salary:

$60,000 - $70,000 per year.
