POSITION SCOPE:

The Manager of Innovation & Commercialization – PMO, is to successfully lead the delivery of multiple new product launches across North America in adherence to a stage gate process, from the most straightforward to the most complex.

POSITION STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES AND KEY DELIVERABLES:

  • Manage overall project actions, issues, risks and dependencies and drive through resolution or mitigation.

  • Effective management of time-cost-quality constraints in order to maximize long-term CTO for the organization.

  • Creation and development of excellent cross-functional networks and excellent stakeholder communication.

    DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages product commercialization from concept through to launch using our established and defined stage gate process.

  • Schedules team meetings, develops agendas, issues discussion summaries and develops project timelines for each project within the portfolio(s) managed.

  • Leads and influences a cross functional team comprised of Product Development, Packaging, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Finance and Sales teams to successfully deliver each launch into the market.

  • Provides cohesion among cross-functional stakeholders by facilitating regular project team meetings, facilitating problem-solving sessions and adding structure for resolution.

  • Builds and actively manages complex, detailed project timelines in Microsoft Project.

  • Collects and captures project scope attributes throughout the stage gate process in partnership with the project stakeholders.

  • Actively maintains clear project communication that effectively demonstrates progress, issues, lessons learned and risks.

  • Acts as the single point of ownership for assigned projects, leading the development and refinement of the project business case from inception through launch and post launch market performance monitoring.

  • Updates and maintains portfolio management database for all projects within the portfolio(s) managed.

  • Faciliates risk assessments and project evaluations to ensure continuous improvement to drive executional excellence.

  • Able to effectively build PowerPoint presentations and clearly present to various levels of the organization.

  • Creatively challenges conventional thinking to break through barriers and challenges.

  • Handle complaints, settle disputes, resolve conflicts, and negotiate with others.

  • Strong working knowledge of a stage gate process and all that is required to effectively commercialize a product/project.

  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

  • Strong working knowledge in and experience with project management concepts, tools and activities including PPM, SAP, MS Office (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

  • Ability to network effectively with stakeholders and build relationships across all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to clearly communicate complexity in different ways to different audiences within the organization.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Strong and proven presentation skills.

  • The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches.

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation and production methods.

    ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCES:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Project Management for the Consumer Packaged Goods industry.

  • Delivery management experience either within project management; working knowledge of the commercialization process.

  • Strong working knowledge of product and packaging development and familiarity with quality assurance procedures.

    ESSENTIAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.

  • CAPM or PMP preferred.
