We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enterprise Architect to join our IT team. This position will be full-time, onsite, and is a contract position for 12 months.

What You'll Do

  • Provides design recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy and updates the enterprise’s architecture to effectively support the business strategy

  • Develops enterprise level application and custom integration solutions, including major enhancements and interfaces, functions, and features

  • Uses a variety of platforms to provide automated systems applications to customers

  • Provides expertise regarding the integration of applications across the business

  • Determines specifications, then plans, designs, and develops complex and business critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes -individually or in concert with the project team

  • Develop programming and development standards, procedures, and programming architectures for code reuse

  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art programming languages and object-oriented approaches in designing, coding, testing, and debugging programs

  • Understands and consistently applies the attributes and processes of current application development methodologies

  • Researches and maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and applications to the business

  • Establishes and implements standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions, including architecting and implementing solutions requiring the integration of multiple platforms, operating systems, and applications across the Department

  • Serves as a technical expert and critical technical resource across multiple disciplines

  • Reviews, advises, and designs standard software and hardware builds, system options, risks, costs vs. benefits, and impact on the enterprise business process and goals for the toll collection system or other Department business systems

  • Develops and documents the framework for integration and implementation of changes to technical standards

  • Acts as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and change agent

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information systems, or another related field or equivalent work experience as described below

  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in multiple IT areas and 2–3 years of relevant architecture experience in tolling, Intelligent Transportation Systems or transit architecture

  • Requires advanced to expert-level knowledge and understanding of architecture, applications systems design, and integration

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
