Position Summary:
The Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) is seeking an outstanding faculty member to join the leadership team as the Assistant Dean for Medical Education Program Evaluation and Accreditation, reporting to the Associate Dean for Educational Affairs and Admissions and the Department Chair as applicable. This position leads, directs, and oversees the Office of Program Evaluation and Accreditation (OPEA) and is responsible for the continuous quality improvement process for the undergraduate medical education (UME) program and may be appointed to serve as the Faculty Accreditation Lead for the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accreditation site visit in 2028.
The Assistant Dean for Medical Education Program Evaluation and Accreditation has the following primary responsibilities:
Design and implement continuous quality improvement (CQI) processes to ensure ongoing compliance with LCME accreditation requirements and necessary methods of evaluations for life-cycle of review pertaining to such processes.
Develop, implement, and oversee internal tracking and reporting systems such as student data dashboards.
Lead, direct, and oversee the evaluation, selection, and implementation of curriculum and assessment systems; interface with stakeholders to identify functional requirements and interface with curriculum and student affairs leaders to develop policies related to student assessment and program/faculty evaluation.
Lead the process of designing, implementing and managing scientifically sound data collection instruments and strategies to evaluate various structure, process and element outcomes of the UME program in coordination with course, clerkship, curriculum directors and curriculum committees.
Responsible for quantitative/qualitative outcomes reporting and providing critical metrics for end-of-course, end-of-clerkship, end-of-phase reports/reviews.
Lead and oversee all administrative aspects of medical student education continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives.
Direct and supervise multiple staff members, including program evaluation and CQI coordinators and specialists, in conducting ongoing data collection and management efforts to support various education-related projects, working effectively with various units in the College of Medicine to advance and enhance the utility of their data collection and reporting efforts.
Collaboratively manage the master medical education management evaluation system database, data sets, and systems; this includes evaluating, suggesting and managing upgrades to data collection, management, and reporting systems.
Develop and maintain project management tools to track CQI activities and ensure follow-up of action items identified by CQI processes; communicating action items to curricular governance committees and UME administrative leadership to ensure appropriate implementation and monitoring.
May be appointed to serve as institutional lead under the supervision of the Associate Dean for Educational Affairs and Admissions to direct and support others in navigating the complexity of LCME requirements.
Serve in a leadership role during LCME accreditation cycles, including managing logistics prior to and during LCME survey visits, such as compiling, formatting, and submitting the survey-related reports/materials and coordination of survey site visit.
Contribute to and/or coordination of all LCME/AAMC official correspondence, responses to accreditation monitoring, and annual questionnaires.
Serve as an active member of national groups, including the AAMC, and participate in LCME webinars related to CQI and accreditation.
Attend regional and national conferences related to academic medicine, medical education, CQI, and LCME accreditation.
Serve as a small group facilitator and/or deliver selected lectures and other large classroom didactic content in area of expertise across all four years of the curriculum.
Conduct scholarly work related to area of focus such as educational research, curriculum design, evaluation and assessment, and/or any other area of medical education, and/or other areas of research including working with students, residents, staff, and faculty on scholarship.
College and University service assignments based on role, interest, and experience including service related to community engagement.
Perform other related duties and complete special projects as assigned by the Associate Dean for Educational Affairs and Admissions.

Minimum Qualifications:
• PhD, EdD, MD, DO or equivalent terminal degree from an accredited institution in statistics/psychometrics, assessment/measurement, health professions, education, or other related field with expertise and experience in analysis of educational program data and the credentials that merit appointment at the rank of assistant or associate professor are required.
• For MD or DO candidates, a Florida medical license or eligibility for Florida licensure is preferred. Board eligibility or certification is also preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience preferred with one or more of the following: statistical analysis, data science, data management, or quantitative/qualitative analysis.
• At least 2 years of experience preferred in: higher education program evaluation, project management, supervisory experience, and IT systems used in higher education performance assessment and/or program evaluation.
• Experience with program evaluation and improvement processes, such as administration of course and teaching evaluation surveys.
• Familiarity or experience in medical education, health professions education, or higher education with a sound understanding of undergraduate medical education, quality improvement and program evaluation preferred.
• Familiarity or experience with accreditation, specifically LCME standards and processes preferred.
• Strong ethical and professional conduct is required.
• The ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders and learners from varied backgrounds is required.
• Exceptional time management, adaptability, flexibility, and the ability to manage multiple demands are required.
