Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel - Arkansas is seeking applicants for the position of Automotive Coordinator within the Technical Services Department. The role of this position includes, but is not limited to:

  • Establishing a culture of safety awareness.

  • Obtaining a comprehensive understanding of our automotive business, including forecast and planning, order grading, operations and customer feedback to drive operational efficiency and quality improvements.

  • Communicating and aligning with cross functional teams to streamline our automotive business. Teams including Product Development/Qualifications, Sales, Production Planning, Operations and Quality.

  • Assisting the inside sales team to optimize the management of automotive products inventory, to achieve appropriate stock volumes and ensure adequate supply.

  • Analyzing quality performance and coordination of projects to improve prime rate.

  • Implementation of monitoring systems to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to stocking, production, quality and on-time production and dispositioning.

  • Driving mill projects based on insights from automotive customer feedback.

  • Coordination with NAS division on future automotive business coming through the pipeline to better prepare the division.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Engineering.

  • Must have 5 years minimum experience with steel products.

  • Must have 5 years minimum experience supplying and/or within the automotive industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science

  • Strong understanding of steel manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems.

  • Experience with hot rolled, pickled, cold rolled, galvanized, and galvannealed sheet products.
