Your contribution will be pivotal in helping customers move their on-premises workloads or create innovative Cloud native solutions on Oracle cloud. Engaging with customers to understand their current deployments, designing/ implementing both large-scale strategic architectures as well as targeted solutions to address both the customer’s short-term and long-term needs.

Responsibilities

As a Consulting Technical Manager specialized in design and delivery of Next-Gen Solutions you will:

  • Be an acknowledged authority within Oracle, this senior level consulting position is responsible for creating and implementing innovative solutions with industry-wide impact.

  • Be highly knowledgeable in Cloud Infrastructure Security, Core Infrastructure (Networks, Storage, Compute), Identity and Access Management, API Security, Data Protection, Observability & Management

  • Lead the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated solutions within constraints of time and budget.

  • Analyze business needs to help ensure Oracle solution meets the customer’s objectives by combining industry best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen.

  • As a position of technical/professional influence, this individual frequently operates at the leading edge of technology.

  • Recommend and justify enhancements to Oracle products to meet very complex customer needs.

  • Exercise creativity and independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to deliver functional and technical expertise on a wide range of business and technology solutions.

  • Lead experienced consulting teams on challenging projects; working on significant and unique issues.

  • As a thought leader and trusted advisor, effectively influence difficult decisions at the leadership-level of customer organizations.

  • Enable business development efforts by providing subject matter expertise.

  • Resolve very complex customer escalations.

  • Drive customer process direction and decisions by providing domain leadership within relevant industries on end-to-end enterprise solutions.

  • Create new solution sets based on assessment of industry needs, market demands and knowledge of competitive product offerings.

  • Demonstrate commercial acumen when engaging and advising a customer

  • Conduct assessments and workshops with both technical and business users to define and showcase the value provided by Oracle Cloud Security Platform

  • Identify the current Security maturity level of Customers and define a Roadmap helping them to take the full benefit of the adoption of Oracle Cloud Security Platform

  • Identify and address regulation compliance issues and position Oracle Security Solutions in order to fill-in potential gaps

  • Work closely with customers, either from a technical or non-technical standpoint, to deliver a solution that fulfils or exceeds their requirements

  • Engage with customers to ensure service needs are being met and deliverables perfectly fit Oracle’s high-quality standard

  • Use deep customer understanding to deliver competitive advantage

  • Continuously develop and maintain the knowledge of relevant Oracle products and services within the rapidly evolving Cloud platform

  • Participate actively in the internal community and proactively contribute to the growth of Consulting Intellectual Property asset library sharing know how, experiences, collaterals related to delivery experiences

  • Form and maintain strong relationships with product management team

Technical, Functional & Architectural skills and experience are clearly important aspects to this role, as are a creative approach to problem solving. These include;

  • the ability to understand the problem statement without pre-empting a solution

  • the ability to quickly understand existing on-premises customer systems and applications and map those to cloud architectures and solutions

  • a good understanding of cloud architecture and hybrid on premise/cloud design patterns

  • strong architectural understanding of all technical aspects of a cloud solution including networking, security, resilience and connectivity

  • excellent communication and presentation skills with high degree of comfort speaking across all levels of management (e.g. IT Management, Architects, Administrators and Executives)

  • strong written skills to be communicate the solution with clarity

  • Some experience in engaging and influencing senior leaders would he highly desirable

  • hands-on experience of cloud deployments. While any cloud experience will be considered, previous experience of OCI would be highly beneficial

  • many customer solutions will require a database, and so a good understanding of database and related technologies is preferable. Oracle database experience is preferred, but knowledge of other databases will also be considered

  • it is expected that every successful candidate will have basic developer skills and be fluent in at least one back-end programming language - e.g. Java, Python, Teraform etc. - as well as having a working knowledge of SQL

  • deploying and managing custom applications based on Java, Weblogic and Oracle database, but also extending to other technologies would be an advantage

  • experience of working as an architect on large-scale application and database consolidations or migrations

10+ years of overall experience in relevant functional or technical roles. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.

Existing UK Security Clearance is required as is a willingness to undergo enhanced security clearance.

Technical Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of proven experience and track record in design and implementation of Cloud solutions: Core Infrastructure (Networks, Storage, Compute), Identity and Access Management, Infrastructure Security, API Security, Data Protection, Observability & Management

  • Good knowledge of Cloud Services delivery model: IaaS, PaaS, SaaS

  • A good understanding of the components of an application from device to disk, and the ability to identify appropriate operational, management & security controls at every layer of the application & infrastructure architecture

  • Experience in supporting compliance frameworks such as GDPR, PCI, HIPAA, FedRAMP or NIST

  • Be familiar with the following Security platforms and technologies: Security Operation Center, Security information and event management, User and Entity Behaviour Analytics, Cloud Access Security Broker, Role Based Access Control, Role mining, Data masking, Pseudonymization, Log management, PKI

  • Solid understanding of common application and infrastructure security vulnerabilities and mitigations

  • Knowledge of programming languages and technologies like: Java, Phyton, PHP, GO

  • Knowledge of SIEM principles, ITIL, ITSM or other IT and DevSecOps methodologies an advantage
