Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our manufacturing team as Machine Operators. In this role, you will be responsible for operating one of our 20 presses, ensuring the production of high-quality metal products for the Automotive and Heavy Equipment industries. No specific machine operation or stamping press experience is required, but candidates must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate one of the 20 presses in the facility.

• Work in teams of up to 4 to place raw material on the press.

• Follow safety protocols by using hand sensors to operate the press.

• Visually inspect parts after they come out of the press.

• Use gauges to ensure parts meet specifications.

Essential Skills

• Machine operation

• Inspection and quality control

• Gauge usage

• Experience in a manufacturing environment

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to lift 45lbs

• Wearing steel-toed boots

• Steady job history

• Steel/stamping experience (preferred)

• Any press operation experience (preferred)

Work Environment

Our facility is a metal stamping company that primarily supports the automotive and heavy truck industries. The work environment is loud and not temperature controlled, so it can get hot in the summer. We have a laid-back culture where everyone works as a team. While we are a UAW Union facility, joining the union is not mandatory. The dress code includes jeans and steel-toed boots. We offer 4-day workweeks with occasional Friday shifts based on workload, and training will be provided during the day shift for 3-6 weeks.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bluffton, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.32 - $17.97/hr.
