Bluffton Fire Protection Territory Firefighter / Part-time in Bluffton, Indiana
The Bluffton Fire Protection Territory is seeking applications from individuals who possess the desire to be a servant for our community, provide for public safety, and represent the City of Bluffton in a professional and ethical manner. BFPT part-time firefighters work shifts to cover time off and vacancies in the schedule.
Applicant Qualifications Be at least 18 years of age Be a high school graduate or possess a High School Equivalency or GED Possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable (insurable) driving record Have no record of felony convictions Have no misdemeanor conviction of domestic violence If prior military, be honorably discharged Hold current certifications in Firefighter I and II, NIMS 100, 200, 700 and 800, Hazmat Operations, EMR or EMT (at a minimum of Emergency Medical Responder certification is required). Be of good moral character and possess a high degree of honesty and integrity Possess an acceptable level of verbal and written skills to successfully execute the essential duties and functions of the job Possess an acceptable level of dexterity to successfully execute the essential duties and functions of the job Possess the ability to interact appropriately with the public, employees, team members, elected officials and others
Wage Wage range (2024 salary ordinance) $16.01 to $20.27 starting wage based on certifications(12 pays per year) Paid training
