Saint-Gobain Maintenance Supervisor in BLUE DIAMOND, Nevada

What’s the job?

This position is responsible for the rationalization, planning and scheduling of maintenance activities to drive improved sustainable plant reliability. It requires hands-on supervision maintenance employees in the installation, maintenance, repair and/or replacement of plant equipment, buildings, machinery, etc. This position is responsible for both mechanical and electrical aspects of the operation. Will be a leader of Professional Maintenance oriented improvement projects in area of responsibility involving the incorporation of World Class Manufacturing techniques and principles into all maintenance systems.

  • Accountable for safe maintenance activities. Will follow and teach safety systems and procedures to employees and contractors. Will perform regular safety audits.

  • Responsible for selecting, training and scheduling technicians for work assignments.

  • Planning, scheduling and monitoring assigned installation, maintenance and repair activities.

  • Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments to minimize plant downtime and maximize safety.

  • Ensure PM’s are accomplished in a timely manner and are to a high standard of quality

  • Work with Engineering and other functional areas with regards to any proposed changes using the change management system.

  • Plan, utilize and manage outside contractors as necessary.

  • Maintain, use and train CMMS system

  • Support and spread the use of WCM tools within the department.

  • Support WCM teams in the development of equipment ledgers and problem solving

  • Drive 5S in maintenance shop

  • Development of detailed tasks

  • Analyzes / stratifies accurate data and information from records to prepare reports, statistics, etc., in support of continuous improvement of Reliability

  • Maintains various departmental records, files, reports and equipment ledgers.

  • Responsible for purchasing card and monthly statement reconciliation.

What do you bring?

  • Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering or 5 years of equivalent maintenance experience in an industrial setting may be substituted for a degree.

  • Core competencies include a passion for detail, effective verbal and written communication skills, teaming skills, listening skills, ability to organize and retrieve information, and to handle people tactfully and effectively in situations involving various educational and employment levels.

  • Requires 3-5 years direct maintenance supervisory experience in an Industrial Environment

  • Requires proficient typing skills and to be comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook/e-mail. Must be able to learn and effectively use local business systems and CMMS systems.

  • Must be flexible to adapt to changing and varying work requirements.

  • Preferred - Experience with 5s, conditioned based maintenance techniques and lean manufacturing.
