Description We are in search of a Senior Accountant to join our non-profit team in Bloomington, Minnesota. This role involves overseeing project-based work, with a flexible work schedule of 15-20 hours per week. While the opportunity for remote work is available, the ideal candidate will be able to be onsite at least once a week for training and regular updates.

Responsibilities:

• Handling accounting tasks such as journal entries, account reconciliations, budgeting, and other month-end close tasks.

• Managing lease accounting journal entries, a relatively new task for the team in the past 1.5 years.

• Applying fund accounting experience in a practical setting.

• Providing solid accounting support and expertise to the team.

• Utilizing skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, Fund Accounting, and Lease Accounting.

• Working in a flexible schedule, with the ability to manage time efficiently.

• Adapting to both onsite and remote work environments.

• Reporting to the CFO and Senior Accountant for regular updates and progress reports.

• Contributing to the overall financial health and transparency of the organization.

• Participating in established processes and team meetings. Requirements • Possess comprehensive knowledge in Account Reconciliation

• Proficient in Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Experience in conducting Bank Reconciliations

• Demonstrable skills in managing General Ledger

• Ability to prepare and analyze Journal Entries

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Familiarity with Month End Close processes

• Experience in Fund Accounting is a must

• Knowledge in Lease Accounting is preferable

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Minimum of five years of experience in a similar role

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

• Non-profit industry experience is a plus.
