Security Communications & Surveillance Operator Bloomington, MN, USA Req #687 Wednesday, May 22, 2024 PURPOSE: To ensure safety and security of MOA Guests, Tenants and Employees. To receive calls, relay messages and handle requests for assistance from tenants, guests, and mall staff. To operate the numerous electronic systems located inside Dispatch. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: * Promptly answer incoming radio and telephone calls, prioritize requests for assistance and dispatch appropriate personnel following established procedures. * Ask questions to interpret, analyze and anticipate the caller's situation as to resolve problems. * Utilize quick decision-making skills and sound judgment acting in accordance with MOA Security policies and procedures, as well as state and local statutes. * Requests assistance from appropriate local or Federal Law Enforcement agencies, as necessary. * Monitors various alarm systems and responds to trouble signals according to procedure; monitors Closed Circuit TV system by proactively searching and scanning for routine issues as well as criminal activity and suspicious activity. * Receive and respond to a variety of emergency and non-emergency calls, remaining calm in high stress situations. * Write and maintain detailed, accurate, and complete logs and records, at times while on the phone with MOA personnel, law enforcement or guests. * Compiles digital video and audio footage from generated reports. * Enters, processes, and retrieves computerized data as requested. * Answer guest questions and provide assistance when needed. * Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the facility. * Regular, reliable, and consistent attendance. * Additional duties as assigned. PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: * Must be at least 18 years of age. * High School diploma or equivalent required, post secondary education preferred. * No record of conviction for crimes against persons or property. * The ability to use logic and reasoning to reach conclusions and approaches to problems. * The ability to use judgment and decision-making skills to evaluate situations, establish priorities, and resolve matters. * The ability to think and react quickly. * The ability to remain calm and effective while working in high pressure and stressful situations. * The ability to actively listen and communicate effectively through clear speech and hearing. * The ability to follow instructions. * The ability to establish priorities and pass on information as needed to appropriate personnel. * Excellent customer service skills. * Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read, write clearly, spell and use proper grammar. * Ability to multitask and work in a face fast-paced environment. * Strong typing skills, including speed and accuracy. * Ability to work variable and/or rotating shifts, which include nights, weekends, and holidays. * Must possess a high aptitude for computers and other technological systems. * Six (6) months prior public safety/security dispatching experience or equivalent education preferred.
