ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Wire and install Voice Data and Fiber systems for residential and commercial customers.
Verify and test installed systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
Attention to detail.
Problem solving skills.
Proficient PC and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook experience.
Ability and flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and dependability.
Ability to prioritize work and meet strict deadlines.
Computer Networking background a plus.
Willing to travel to jobsites.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees are frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl.
This position requires the ability, and bend or stand as necessary.
This position requires the ability to move and/or lift objects regularly up to 50 pounds.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High School Graduate
3-5 years minimum in the Voice Data and Fiber systems field
Power Limited License (PLT) required
PROGRAM INFORMATION:
Work as an apprentice AV technician 40 hours per week.
Valid driver’s license required.
Ability to pass the Electrician’s Trade Aptitude Test.
Attend class one day per week through Joint Apprenticeship Training Program (free).
Wages are based on the union scale and increase based on the number of hours worked.
Usually takes about 3 years to complete program and become licensed.
